01 novembre 2006, 22:28 perspective On the desktop of one of my work computers I have a photo of two girls I met on the Kenyan coast - 2 year old Sufi and 3 year old Maya. Several weeks ago I added these beautiful children to my desktop as a reminder to of what is important in life. And then I forgot to see past all the emails, word documents, and websites that litter my life. Today though (and it was perfect timing, really), someone asked me the story of Maya and Sufi and I was reminded once again of the importance of having perspective. I remembered that it is okay to leave work early to have coffee with a sad friend. Or to wake up early on a Sunday morning to have breakfast with my mom. Or how privileged and loved I have been - and how I should find a way to pay it forward as well as back. It's a good lesson, really.
