In 11 days, I will be heading to Kenya for a month. The main purpose of this visit is to participate in a program called under african skies, though I must admit it is partially an excuse to go on a safari. I am not really the type to get excited, but in the last couple of days, as the result of a series of emails outlining 'packing lists,' I am giddy with anticipation. I wasn't even phased when a coworker told me that my malaria medss would give me minor psychotic episodes or when another friend said I probably wouldn't be able to bathe for days (and days) at a time. It will be like a fun camping adventure - an adventure where I eat maize and beans everyday!
