Monday, statistically proven to be the worst day of the year, is the day of our federal election. It is really a question of choosing the best of a bad lot, though I must admit that our 'bad lot' looks much more promising than those of many other countries, so I can't really complain. The forced-democracy is what I'd rather save my energy complaining about (though thankfully for you, it is not what I am going to talk about here).

I am however, considering strategic voting this year and would like your thoughts. It somehow seems wrong - backing someone that you don't entirely support - but preventing one guy from getting elected is a greater priority for me than trying to elect a guy who has very little hope of winning. Tricky eh?

Regardless, I don't even think I'll be able to vote, as I am busy from early morning until late night on Monday. I know every employer has to give their employees the opportunity to vote, but how does it work when you go straight from one job to the next. Whose responsibility is it to give you the time off? And how do I ask for it without revealing that I have another job?

Continuing on this disjointed path, contrary to the many polls, I am predicting a liberal minority.
