11 aout 2005, 17:33 wonderful distractions I have recently discovered NASA TV. I don’t know why I never thought to turn it on before this month, but it has proved to be a wonderful distraction at work. Most of the time I am not paying attention or have it muted, but one the (rare) occasion when I need a break, I have been loving it. When I went to shut down today, I noticed they were playing a very hyped-up version of politicians congratulating each other (I think they may have referred to it as a press conference), and I saw 2 people I know. That 4 people in like a week. I am SO cool! I have a question though – not just specifically for the shuttle, but for all NASA programs. How is ‘test flight’ or ‘test program’ defined? How is it that a vehicle with 100+ flights can still be considered a test? Is it just to weaken the blow in the event of a failure? Someone explain please.
