My Magic Bridge
Everyday I drive over a bridge.
It is a magic bridge
That takes me to an enchanted island.
This island is a whole different world
Where water is an important part of life.
So important that it is always within reach.
There's a whole new breed of people
on the island. Water people.
Here, they aren't rich like the mainland folk,
but they are also not such snobs.
That is, of course,
when they are not trying to steal your car.
I love my enchanted island.
Okay, moving right along . . . The recommended book for this week is going to be A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine l'Engle. I am sorry that it is the second children's book in as many weeks, but I learn something new every time I read it. Besides, everyone should have read it by now.
Okay, I new quote for you: "You can impress people at a distance, but you can impact them only up close" (Howard Hendricks). And, on that note, I think I need to get up from the hole that is my bedroom and out into the real world. Look out, here I come!
